North Segment

 

June 2017

Denton

Construction

  • The I-35E TEXpress Lanes from Swisher Road in Denton County to the LBJ Express in Dallas are now open. The two reversible lanes span 18-miles and feature approximately 15 entrance and exit ramps.
  • The final surface paving for the north- and southbound mainlanes is underway and will continue through the end of the project this summer. There will be various nightly mainlane closures along the I-35E corridor through the summer for this work and motorists should be prepared for short term uneven pavement conditions.
  • The northbound I-35W ramp to northbound I-35E is scheduled to close nightly for approximately one week in June. Alerts will be sent prior to the closure.
  • The northbound I-35E entrance ramp from North Texas Boulevard, the southbound exit ramp to North Texas Boulevard and the southbound entrance ramp from North Texas Boulevard are scheduled to open this summer.
  • The north- and southbound I-35E mainlanes at North Texas Boulevard are scheduled to shift into their permanent alignment in June.
  • Additional lanes of the North Texas Boulevard bridge are now open and work on the span is scheduled to be completed in August.
  • McCormick Street will continue to be closed between the north- and southbound frontage roads through the summer for bridge construction. Traffic is free-flow on the frontage roads during this closure.
  • Work lengthening and widening the entrance and exit ramps between Fort Worth Drive and Teasley Lane will be completed this summer.
  • Work rebuilding the intersections on either side of the Post Oak Drive bridge is ongoing. The additional lanes of Post Oak Drive bridge are scheduled to open in August with two through lanes in each direction as well as two turn lanes in each direction.
     

Corinth

Construction

  • The northbound entrance ramp from Lake Dallas Drive will temporarily close in June for two months to allow the construction of the permanent entrance ramp. The new ramp is scheduled to re-open late summer.
  • The Oak Drive/Lake Dallas Drive intersection and the additional lanes of Turbeville Road/Hundley Drive are scheduled to open this summer.
  • The two-way condition on the southbound frontage road between Hickory Creek Road and Oak Drive will end later this summer after the Oak Drive/Lake Dallas Drive intersection opens.
  • The additional north- and southbound I-35E mainlanes, frontage road lanes and pedestrian/bike paths on the Lewisville Lake bridges are scheduled to open this summer.

Middle Segment

Lewisville

Construction

  • The FM 407 intersection is expected to fully reopen this summer. Crews are finalizing the decorative paving and aesthetic work on the interchange.  
  • Work continues on the new Fox Avenue and Garden Ridge Boulevard bridges with additional lanes on both spans scheduled to open this summer.
  • The additional north- and southbound I-35E mainlane, frontage road lanes and pedestrian/bike paths on the Lewisville Lake bridges are scheduled to open this summer.
  • Work on Highland Village Road at the southbound I-35E frontage road is scheduled to be completed this summer.
  • Work on Copperas Branch Park and Highland Lakes Park has begun and is scheduled for completion this summer.
     

Highland Village

Construction

  • Hickory Hills Boulevard will close for 48 hours in June, (date to be determined) just east of the DCTA tracks to complete paving work. The road will be connected to the northbound frontage road later this summer. Alerts will be sent out prior to the closure.
  • The two-way condition on the southbound frontage road between Hickory Creek Road and Oak Drive will end later this summer after the Oak Drive/Lake Dallas Drive intersection opens.

Farmers Branch

Construction

  • Aesthetic work on the new ramps connecting the LBJ Express TEXpress Lanes to the 35Express TEXpress Lanes continues. Motorists should expect nightly closures of various north- and southbound mainlanes between Royal Lane and Interstate 635 to complete this work.


Carrollton

Construction

  • The I-35E TEXpress Lanes from Swisher Road in Denton County to the LBJ Express in Dallas are now open. The two reversible lanes span 18-miles and feature approximately 15 entrance and exit ramps.
  • The final surface paving for the north- and southbound mainlanes is underway and will continue through the end of the project this summer. There will be various nightly mainlane closures along the I-35E corridor through the summer for this work and motorists should be prepared for short term uneven pavement conditions.
  • The additional lanes of the new elevated Belt Line Road intersection are scheduled to open in August. While this work continues, motorists should expect overnight lane reductions and closures of the Belt Line Road intersection.
  • Work on Broadway Street, south of Belt Line Road, will continue through the summer. Old Downtown Carrollton traffic will use Main Street during this closure.
